Why Students Love It

More than a workout.

Original Hot Yoga offers a reliable framework for building physical strength, mental focus, and greater confidence in your body over time.

Beginner-friendly structure

The sequence remains consistent, making it easier to become familiar with the postures, understand the instructions, and progress at your own pace.

Strength, balance and mobility

The postures work together to challenge major muscle groups, support joint mobility, improve stability, and promote more functional movement in everyday life.

Focus and stress relief

Coordinating breath with movement gives the mind one clear place to focus. Many students leave class feeling calmer, clearer, and more grounded.

A practice for the long term

Because the sequence stays the same, you can recognize progress, develop greater body awareness, and continue discovering new challenges within familiar postures.

Yin Yoga

Slow down. Soften. Reconnect.

Yin Yoga at The Yoga Ridge is a quiet, non-heated practice designed to support mobility, flexibility, recovery, and a calmer nervous system.

Most postures are practiced on the floor and held for several minutes with the support of blocks, bolsters, and blankets. The slower pace gives you time to settle into each shape, observe your breath, and release unnecessary tension.

Unlike more active forms of yoga, Yin Yoga places gentle, sustained stress on connective tissues such as fascia, ligaments, tendons, and joint capsules. The goal is not to force flexibility, but to create space, improve body awareness, and encourage more comfortable movement over time.

Long, supported holds
Mostly floor-based
Non-heated and restorative

Whether you are recovering from an active workout, managing stress, improving mobility, or simply looking for a quiet hour in your week, Yin Yoga meets you where you are.

Why Students Love Yin Yoga

A quieter practice with meaningful benefits.

Yin Yoga complements active movement by creating time for stillness, recovery, mindfulness, and gradual improvements in mobility.

Improve mobility and flexibility

Long-held postures gently encourage greater ease through the hips, spine, shoulders, and legs while supporting a more comfortable range of motion.

Support connective tissue health

Yin Yoga works with fascia, ligaments, tendons, and joint structures that support comfortable, resilient movement throughout everyday life.

Reduce stress and calm the mind

Slow breathing and stillness encourage the body’s natural relaxation response. Many students leave feeling calmer, grounded, and mentally refreshed.

Recover and restore

Yin Yoga complements Original Hot Yoga, running, cycling, strength training, hiking, and other active pursuits by helping reduce stiffness and supporting recovery.

What to Expect

Quiet, supported, and accessible.

Yin Yoga is less about how a posture looks and more about finding a position that allows your body to soften gradually without forcing or strain.

Floor-based postures Most of class is practiced sitting, reclining, kneeling, or lying down on the mat.
Supported holds Blocks, bolsters, and blankets help adapt postures to your body so you can remain comfortable and steady.
Time to settle Postures are typically held for three to five minutes, followed by a gentle transition or neutral resting shape.
Options for every body Your instructor offers alternatives so you can choose the version that works best for your mobility and comfort.
